Eurovision Hopeful Wears Müller Group Shoes

From 10 May 2022 – 40 countries will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin (Italy). Kandahar will join them on the big stage.

Switzerland is pinning its hopes on Singer-Songwriter Marius Bear with «Boys Do Cry»! The song is about feelings and emotions that need to be exposed and not suppressed or hidden by emotional defences. Emotions should not be seen as a weakness but as a great strength.

The 28-year-old from Appenzell will perform his ballad wearing the Swiss cult shoe brand – Kandahar. The Swiss-made shoes were first produced in 1932, initially as après-ski shoes, later as extreme, weatherproof and warm winter shoes. Kandahar is now part of the kybun Joya Group and is produced in eastern Switzerland.

On the stage with cult shoes from Switzerland

It comes as a surprise to many that Kandahar shoes are made here in Switzerland, Marius Bear included: «I was not aware that these comfortable and awesome shoes were made here in Switzerland. The Kandahar shoes fit perfectly with my Eurovision outfit, as the distinctive sole rounds off my whole ensemble!»

We are proud to see a little piece of Swiss footwear history on stage this year.

«It is truly amazing how down-to-earth Swiss footwear can become a design object and take its place in a show like this.»

Karl Müller, CEO Kandahar

Marius Bear starts the event with number 4 and has to prevail against 16 international competitors in the first semi-final. We are keeping our fingers crossed for him and wish him every success in this very special experience.
